With a camera in hand since childhood, Jonas Bang’s lifelong focus on aesthetics got off to the earliest of starts. Today, the young Danish director has translated his fascination with the image into a flourishing career in commercials, campaigns, fashion films and music videos, often styled with a raw and poetic touch. Jonas’ style is markedly playful, relying on the director’s incredible eye for details, which also translates into his attentiveness in things such as his usage of editing and sound. His 2021 film for Danish fashion label Gestuz, ‘The Journey’, was nominated for a number of that year’s art direction and production design awards, including wins at both the Creative Circle and True Awards. Jonas’ first short film, “Dream Diver”, debuted at the Copenhagen Dox Film Festival and is now being shown at festivals in South Korea and Belgium. Jonas is always looking for creative ways to convey story and mood. His most projects have included clients such as IKEA and Mercedes-Benz, as well as a string of videos for artists such as pop icon MØ and underground legends Iceage—all with this dynamic sense of story and mood therewithin.
